Looking Out-

I love looking out this window...especially when our Crepe Myrtle is ablaze in Autumn's splendor. 

I stood high on the stairs....to take this picture....to get a better perspective....this picture was taken in the morning....but look how the camera focused on the light....leading me to enjoy the fall colors even more.

The house seemed so quiet....so I just sat there on the stairs thinking-  My head filling with all kinds of thoughts....I decided to write down a few that stayed with me throughout the day.

• Service and perspective....brings out the best in all of us.  
• It gets us looking outward instead of inward.  
• It prompts us to consider others needs ahead of our own.....
• I love seeing young families teach their children to serve.....
• We will not save our children by focusing only on fun activities which are more inward-looking.
• Teach them to serve.
• The light always surrounds the best things.....look to the light...I wish I could be more like a camera and always focus on the light. 
• Oh, How Heavenly Father loves us...Thank Thee so much for Fall.

 

Just my thoughts on a quiet morning sitting on the stairs.....looking out.

 

 

A True Autumn Day-

I worked in the Garden all day- and would stop from time to time....because of the stillness, so quiet.  I wondered if all the birds were out flying about the earth seeking all things Autumn...

because....this tree still held tight all it's red berries.  ( usually the birds eat them gone the day they turn red...wondering why this year they are still there}

Some of the roses were pushing forth their last hooray.

The trees- here and there a yellow leaf shows itself... and a touch of red beside the resting hydrangea 

The garden beds are now empty...taking a little break....quiet.

 

A true Autumn Day...so Still.

Bubble room & kitchen...clutter.

One of my goals this summer was to go through every cupboard-drawer-shelf-closet and de-clutter!

and I'm just now getting started...what happened to the summer?

The kitchen ....done

the bubble room...done

the end result....

• 4 large garbage bags headed for the dumpster
• 2 large plastic containers....for the cabin....really do I need 3 can openers?
• bubble room - broken toys gone!

The bubble room is the space under the staircase....used as a "grandKid" play area

Names and Height...over the years.

Happy Day....got a good start today.

 

An Explosion of Spring-

Today has been an awesome day.

I'm sure many of you have read the Story book-

"Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, no good, Very Bad Day"?

 

Well, I had the opposite kind of day.

My story book would be called....

"Teresa and the wonderful, lovely, feel good, Very Happy Day"?

...how can you not have an awesome smiley day with these popping out around you?!

I dare you not to smile when you see these Peony pictures...

I can't, I can't!

 Makes me smile every-time!

Prepare for a Peony explosion!  You face will thank me later =)  Smile big-

See, I told you!  Awesome day- if you were all here, I would send one Home with you to enjoy....seriously!   They fade fast and You just have to take it all in with the little time they are here!

An Explosion of Wild Turkeys!

Something big must be happening...all day long they just kept gathering at our home!

Something big is happening!  Should I be afraid? =)

Okay and if Peony explosion and Turkey explosion wasn't enough to make a great day.....why not top it off with a visit from a friend, vintage shopping and....{I will tell you about the "and" part at the end. =)

We just happened to visit during their Spring Open House...which meant a chocolate fountain , cookies and treats...

-The shops name is Chocolate Soup-

I found an awesome vintage bird cage and stand....soon to be placed at Flourish!

Smoothies for the ride home....

and now the "and" part.

And.... we hung out laughing and dreaming on the hammock . (let me just tell you, it is harder than it looks to sit and relax on a hammock....it takes skills....truly!}

We are celebrating Easter up in Catheys Valley- so beautiful up here during the spring.

Mason and Jessica are here... along with Heidi, Sam, kids, and Flo and Del {Heidi's parents}

Denver and Bree are here too!  Happy Day!

Sam and Heidi had been here less than 1/2 hour....when Audry fell from the tree house...flat on her back...{it's about 8 feet up}  my heart stopped! Danny was just a couple feet from grabbing her...when she fell!  It knocked the wind out of her....all else was fine. .....but my heart and stomach are a mess....still !  I Thank Heavenly Father for that sweet blessing of her being fine. {major upgrade on the railing coming for the tree house!}

Here she is a couple hours after falling.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Tomorrow will be Cole's blessing day....looking forward to that.

and so, so relieved that Audrey is ok.

Spring has sprung...well, a little.  We were doing some yard work on Saturday {lots of fruit tree prunings etc to be cut up and burned.} But I did happen to snap a few "spring" pictures.

We had a few trees die on us....so Danny cut them down. {Early spring is the only time we can have a fire around here....other times of the year it is too dry.}

Beautiful day!

 

Other fun things this week- Working on the Flourish shop!   Sam, Heidi, Bree, Sandi and Ruth came by on Friday and helped me get everything ready.  Special thanks to Bree, she has been my go to girl from the beginning!  Happy Day.

Just a few more touches and Flourish will be good to go!

Thursday March 14th 5-8 pm will be the open house.  

 It would be fabulous to see you there..... Come with your friends!

Considering the Blessings-

Today as I walked the path to the garden; I was considering all my blessings.....listing them one by one large or small in my mind as I walked and worked.

As I looked around an overwhelming feeling came over me....Teresa you are so blessed.  Yes, death, illness, pain have entered you life.....but....you are blessed.

Even as we stand knee deep in work....I feel blessed.   Blessed to have the strength to do the work....and that I have work to do.

 The outpouring of blessings makes me wonder- I'm I becoming the person God, our Heavenly Father Intended me to be?

Do I listen carefully to the promptings sent my way?

When it comes to living the gospel, we should not be like the boy who dipped his toe in the water and then claimed he went swimming. As sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, we are capable of so much more. For that, good intentions are not enough. We must do. Even more important, we must become what Heavenly Father wants us to be.

To avoid some of the deepest regrets of life, it would be wise to make some resolutions today. Therefore, let us:

  Resolve to spend more time with those we love.

I want to gather those I love around me and let them know how blessed I feel to have them in my life. 


Even when things seem just to0 big to handle....I need to remember to just do it a step at a time, make better decisions and try to use my time more wisely.

Thanksgiving Centerpiece- and it's so quiet

It's easy to forget how quiet it is- up in the hills away from town.   So quiet.... 

Taking advantage of the time alone.....I walked the property;  and I found a dead skunk and a baby snake....sweet wild life.
