Today I'm sharing an idea that my sister Pam created to give to The Sisters she visits.
The Attributes of Jesus Christ: Long-Suffering and Patient
March 2015
Thomas S. Monson said, "Life is full of difficulties, some minor and others of a more serious nature. There seems to be an unending supply of challenges for one and all. Our problem is that we often expect instant solutions to such challenges, forgetting that the heavenly virtue of patience is required."
When Peter asked Christ how many times he should forgive his brother, Christ replied, 'Seventy times seven,' rather than the mere seven times that Peter had offered (
Matthew 18:21–22). To forgive seventy times seven certainly takes a large measure of patience
Thinking of the hymn,
Abide with me, Tis Eventide, The concept of “enduring” and “enduring well” and even “endure with joy” are not new to us. We are all have been told to “endure to the end.” But…. have we considered that “enduring” the same as “abiding” with Christ…. Or in times of trouble… that Christ would abide with us. But it does. It means exactly that. That we can invite Christ to abide with us, to endure with us—to bring us ultimate peace…and joy. We can choose to endure things well, but we can also choose to abide with Christ as we endure.
Yes..There are a lot of things we cannot change, however there are some things we can, as we try to endure well with morecourage, grace and faith, enduring every hour of every day, even when it is hard to do so, and we want to walk away and give up. Just do what you can and leave what you cannot change to the Lord. The Lord said we will have many afflictions, but he also promise, "Endure them, for lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days" (D&C 24:8)
We too, Just like a seed in order for it to grow, Has to be dropped in the Dirt, covered in Darkness and Struggle to reach the Light...But if we Abide our time to be Patient, Eventually all the Pieces fall into place, it will all work out in the end and what felt hard, dark, cold and lonely will become a beautiful blessing. Reach out to Christ he will Help you.
A little something special she put together for her ladies-
Along with the cake she gave each of them seed packets and a puzzle-
