My Style- Color block

This is my attempt at fall dressing...see the little piece of burnt orange. =)

In an attempt to document some of the everyday things in my life....I decided to add to this blog ...maybe once a week a post on what I wore.

 (because I use this blog as a "yearbook"  and I print it out each year....I'm thinking that maybe in 20 years when my granddaughters look at my "yearbook" they can get a good laugh out of what I use to wear.)

Release Thyself from Bondage!

When I'm preparing for an event, meeting or gathering....I pile....yes, I have a staging room (the guest bedroom)  I pile things in  there in groups....a pile for church, a pile for family, a pile for parties...well, you get the idea.  

Right now I feel a little like I'm in "Bondage"  kind of like when you are in over your head in debt....If I don't soon do something about these piles they are going to crush me!

(like debt these piles are my companion every minute of the day and night;....and whenever I get in its way or cross its course or fail to meet its demands, it crushes me!)

So today....I'm taking steps to release myself from this bondage!

I'm taking the step to tame these piles! Don't get me wrong, piles are a necessary "evil" in my life....they help keep me organized....but now they are everywhere....time to contain!

They can't be everywhere in my home!  

Today I start the process of releasing myself from bondage!

Corn Maze with the Grand-kids

I gathered up the grand-kids and headed to Fantozzi Farms for a little "corn maze" fun. 

We...

• flew down the slide
• rolled around in the corn pit
• got lost in the maze
• rode a cow train
• and took a hayride
• climbed a haystack mountain
• picked out the perfect pumpkin 
• and took a Hayride.

Yes, I was crazy enough to go down.

A Day with Jessica and Alene-

This week I was lucky enough to be able to spend a whole day with Jessica and Alene-  It was going to be a shopping/baking/being together kind of day.

The mall was full of Halloween and Fall inspiration.   Fun!

We walked around looking at everything...then had lunch together at the Marketplace cafe.

Then once we were home...Jessica started baking, while I watched Alene-

Alene loves her Mommy....she loves to sit by her with her little arm wrapped around the back of Jessica's arm....and every once in awhile she would nuzzle her little nose into Jessica's arm and just smile.

We watched a show together and then ended the night with dinner out ...Mexican style.

Biking on the Sacramento River-

Biking by the Sacramento River....on a beautiful fall day....just what the doctor ordered!   Bree and I took a 24 hour get away to the Westin by the River-  ( using up vacation points =)

We started our day off by riding along side the Sacramento River....I will let the pictures tell the story.

my bike was of an older style ...pedal breaks and a basket.

 

 

 

We were hoping for a little more "fall" colors...but the day was still beautiful.

We had a wonderful day- we finished the day off by-

• Walking around Old town
• Lale Spa
• Dinner at Scott's Seafood

Fall Bike ride outfit-

This Saturday....I'm going on a bike ride along side the Sacramento River.  Which means I need an outfit. Crazy right?   its just a bike ride.  (just a girl thing. =)

So, I went shopping......Shopping my closet that is.  I thought the occasion called for something "Fall like." 

After I pulled everything I thought would work out of my closet...here are three outfits I came up with.

#1-I like this first outfit, it has a little fall flare, it will still keep me warm....but not make me too hot.

 

#2-This one will keep me warmer....but I'm kind of afraid of getting too warm....I like the boots for walking around, but might not work well on a bike.

#3-  I've had this jacket for years....and I really like it....but again kind of worried it might be too warm.

I'm thinking I will probably be most comfortable in #1.

Not sure....what do you think?  I guess I could wait and see what the weather will be like on Saturday.

When you have an event, party, or outing...do you shop your closet or just break down and get something new?

When you dream about your "Dream Home"  what comes to mind and how do you collect all your thoughts?  Here's what I think   love pinterest...but I still keep a 3 ring binder full of ideas (old fashion that way...still need something to touch.=)

#MeetTheMormons

I think most of you that follow my blog know that I am a Mormon, but just in case you don't let me share...

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

With that being said....you may have been wondering what all this "I'm a Mormon" talk is about ...we would like you to know who we really are.

We are people just like you with families, dreams, talents, desires, difficulties etc.  We have found a Faith that helps us with all of these and we want to share.  

You may be wondering what this movie is all about. The Mormons? Who are we? Why are we releasing a MOVIE?

Is it a proselytizing movie? Are we trying to get you to join our church? No to both.

But it IS a movie about real people.

 

We like to give:  All net proceeds go to The American Red Cross...our church isn't making money off of it. We simply want to share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how faith in Him can make us all happy.

 

 

  The movie comes out in theaters nation-wide on Friday, October 10, 2014.  IF you don't see it in your area, you can request it HERE.

I know that Christ lives and that he love me and you.  Gaining my testimony of Jesus Christ has been a gradual process.  I have felt the Spirit witnessing to me as I have fasted and prayed and received answers to those prayers, knowing that Jesus Christ is the mediator between Heavenly Father and us. I have felt closeness to Him through Temple worship.

Throughout my life my testimony has grown and been strengthened until today there is no doubt in my mind that Jesus Christ is the Son of God—my Savior and Redeemer. This knowledge brings me a quiet assurance and peace.

Thank you for letting me share what I believe...I pray that we all may find the Faith that would enlighten our hearts and mind and bring us peace.

Ask Jesus and Elsa with sit with you at Lunch-

The Wisdom of a 4 year old.   The other day I was babysitting Audrey and Cole.

  Audrey wanted to play Mommy and sissy....so I agreed.  

She wanted to be the Mommy and I would be the sissy.  Okay, I'm good with that.

After about 15 minute of the most darling conversation....I just had to try as discreetly as I could record what she was saying....

I will set this video up for you.

Remember, she is the Mommy and she has just asked me how my day was at school along with several other  darling questions...

She is preparing lunch for me and wanted to know if I ate lunch at school....
