Here's the low down on what went down in Texas. =)
Checked into our Hotel {We stayed at a hotel, because we were planning to rip apart Kent and Becca's home putting in tile, etc.... We are at the age where we need our "creature" comforts.}
Found this lovely little basket filled with goodies at our Hotel....Thanks Kent and Becca. We ate it all.
The first night we had a fabulous dinner in downtown San Antonio at the river walk. Becca was still in Utah visiting her family so it was just Dan, Kent and I.
Day two the tiling began.
This was Kent's first time "tiling" so Dan spent some time looking over his shoulder, helping with a little "Daddy" advice.
We took a little break so that Kent could go pick Becca and Nicholas up at the airport. Of course Grammer and Papa had prizes waiting for him. =)
After we played a little, it was back to work.
We Started the tile Wednesday morning and finished the Kitchen on Friday night. The bathroom was tiled but still needed to be grouted. The rest of the time there, we painted and added baseboards, installed a toilet, a new bathroom vanity and added kitchen cab. knobs.
See Becca's blog for finished details.
Every once in awhile I would ask the guys to stop and look at me so that I could get a picture. This was one of those times......well lets just say, the baseboards were not cooperating.
It wasn't all work.
We took plenty of time to stop and play with Nicholas...
We ate at a different restaurant every-night... we had to... no kitchen, no sink, no stove. =)
Becca, Nicholas and I took part of one day to enjoy the San Antonio botanical garden.
We enjoyed going to church with them-
Our last night there Kent and Becca thanked us by treating us to a fabulous dinner at Towers of the Americas Chart House restaurant. {thanks to their Friend Allison for babysitting... and she also played the piano fabulous on Sunday. =)
Kent headed back to work on Tuesday we headed for the airport.....We had a small window of time {like a half hour} so we took advantage of it and decided to stop for a quick look at
The Alamo- {it was only 7 miles from the airport.} and when I say quick I mean only four pictures quick.
We enjoyed our time with the kids....and of course it always comes to an end way to soon. We miss them already.
I kept meaning to have Kent or Becca take a picture of us with Nicholas....and kept getting side tracked. So our last day with Nicholas {after spending the whole day, painting, grouting, etc.} I decided to ask Becca to take this picture..
.so don't judge how we look, we are a mess. =)Love that little guy.
