The Details-
Theme- "Finding Joy In the Journey"
Getting Ready- Norma a friend and the beautiful lady I work with, putting the finishing touches on the flowers. Share a little secret with you- when your budget is tiny {and who's RS budget isn't?}- adding a few fresh flowers to "fake" ones helps to stretch you flower budget and people hardly notice the "fake" ones. Plus using twigs etc. from your yard is also a big help.
Each plate had the word Joy written on it- along with a few Berries dusted with powdered sugar.
I cup of chocolate and 2 tsp. of canola oil- melt- and you are ready to "write" away.
{ $1 in chocolate, 10 minutes to write on plates = big bang for your buck.}
- Mini Birthday cake centerpieces.
- Small gift bags with one white truffle inside at each setting.
- White linens & white plates.
- All the Desserts were white in color.
The Event- The Lovely lady in the middle was our musical talent for the evening- very touching and inspiring. That is her husband {our Branch President next to her} I took a picture of our guest speaker- President and Sister Edler- but it came out so blurry- {lighting in the cultural hall is so bad.} They both spoke on "Finding Joy in the Journey" their comments buoyed us up and were perfect for the evening.
Each sister received two bags as they left one with a white chocolate truffle and one with a CD of Presidents Monson's talk "Finding Joy in The Journey."
"Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family."
"Our realization of what is most important in life goes hand in hand with gratitude for our blessings."
-President Thomas S. Monson

One more picture and note-
Norma and I decided it would be great fun to dress alike- {we are silly gals}. She is so tiny and well I'm not. We have the same blouse on- people thought it just happened.
{Don't people realize, that every detail is planned for an event, even what we wear? =}
I know silly, but girls have to have some fun.
