Walked down to the Lake to see if anything new was going on. We just got a pretty big storm, and usually after a good storm- the water is over flowing the spill, and it can be amazing. It was spilling over but just a little. It will more than likely take a few more storms to really get it going. When it does I can usually hear the sound of the water crashing in my back yard. Talk about sounds, it was like a zoo while I was at the lake- The geese and wild turkeys were having a sound off... oh my goodness! I was hoping the turkeys would come a little closer, but they stayed on the other side of the lake.
Things I like about the Lake-
- It's very peaceful- that is unless all the wild animals arrive at the same time and want to be heard.
-
Love the green moss on all the rock.
-
The stacked rock walls- They are a historical landmarks- (the walls were build by the Chinese, who were brought in to build the railroads.}
-
We have had fun canoe racing there.
-
Easter Egg hunts.
-
Picnics.
-
Bonfires
One thing that we haven't done yet... but something that Dan has been wanting to do- gold panning... it will happen soon. The spill of the lake falls into this river and that's where we will be looking- wish us luck. {smile}
The Lake is a private Lake, used just by the people who live next to it. It's small but perfect to us.
If you want to see a truly amazing lake- check out my sisters site. She captures some amazing pictures of the lake she lives next to.
