Sandi gifted the cabin this awesome dream catcher she made.....and it worked perfect for our fall gathering. (you are never to old to dream or set a new goal.)
To everything there is a Season-
One morning as I was walking to Heidi's home, kicking through the leaves that had fallen on the walk overnight, I suddenly had the urge, the strongest urge, to bite into a beautiful crisp, red apple....and to plan a fall gathering.
Do you ever feel like that?
I love fall and there is nothing better to do than to gather your friends and enjoy a fall day together.
Our Theme-
-
setting priorities
- find harmony
- Each season of our life has a special purpose, and fulfillment comes through experiencing each season’s purpose at the proper time.
- Put it all together.
This post is a look at our day of crafting, talking, eating, laughing, planting, sharing.
Gathering, dream catcher and Breakfast-
We prepared a cider/pastry table to welcome them as they came up the stairs.
Let the fun begin!
Sandi and Ruth both helped to plan this activity- Sandi was able to come up the night before and help set things up.
We made little "gather booklets" for each of the girls....you can read how we used them here.
This was our breakfast setting- Breakfast inside, lunch on the deck and dinner around the fire-pit.
- Apple Biscoff Galette
- breakfast egg bake
- apple donuts
- Pumpkin muffins
- fresh apple cider
- apricot turnovers
After breakfast we had a fun little photo shoot....more on that at the end of this post.
Crafting and fun-
Terrariums-
We used the terrariums as centerpieces for lunch on the deck.
After making terrariums I had the girls help me with a little project at the cabin...planting spring bulbs.
Sandi read to us as we planted...."The Daffodil Garden," was planted by one person, one bulb at a time, over a period of thirty-five years. The story of "The Daffodil Principle" in Jaroldeen Edwards' book Celebration! Start today, one step at a time, to change your world.
We planted over 200 bulbs....thanks so much ladies (so sorry Jill about the blister.=(
After all that hard work...a little down time-
Lunch on the Deck
- Butternut squash lime curry soup
- home made bread
- cheese platter
After lunch crafting with Ruth- what fun.
Time for a little walk.
Sandi made these cute little "Hobo bags" to carry our water and snack for our hike.
- carrots, grapes, pretzels, water and a caramel apple sucker....and oh, we can't forget the tiny bag of sparkle dust. (smile)
Back from our Hike- Sandi helped the ladies make an awesome pillow.
Dinner-
Hot dogs for dinner....fun.
Photo Shoot- back of the cabin-
