Be the Warmth-

I need to remember-

LOOK for my motives before I speak. Do I mention someone because I care about them, or do I put them down to make myself look better?

REALIZE that I am not perfect either. Think about the things that someone could dig up on me if they wanted to. Wouldn’t I rather leave them buried?

Need to remember the one keeping quiet about the tale is probably the one I should believe…not the one spreading the tale.

Remember to be the warmth- By not gossiping, I can create a warm shelter where those who know me realize they can come and freely discuss any problems they are having without fear that things will be inappropriately discussed or repeated.

Remember- The big thing about telling derogatory things about people is that in doing so we counteract the ability of others to forgive those people.

Remember how it feels/hurts  to find out others are spreading  gossip about me.

Mission Farewell-

Sunday April 19th was the day when family and friends gathered to hear Mason speak in Church, and to show their love and support.

We would like to thank all that came and sent Mason off with well wishes and blessings- you are very appreciated.

The day was wonderful- I thought Mason's talk was touching and totally him. =)

{and I'm not just saying that because I'm his Mom.}

These are the men that stood in the circle when President Edler set Mason apart as a Missionary. {I was a little slow on getting a picture- so I grabbed them all as some were heading home; hence the reason some are not in a suit.} I really think that a Mom should not have to worry about pictures on a day like that.  There were a couple other pictures I wanted to get but didn't, I'm hoping one of my kids has it on their camera.

 

Have you ever tried to get five children to sit still long enough to get a picture? .....I think it's cute still the same.

The girls-

 

When I took the girls out to take their pictures- Carlee notice Anna's "gloves" and said- "Grammer, can I have some hand slippers too?"  Too cute. The matching skits in the picture on the bottom right- Shannon made.  It was so much fun seeing the two girls twirl and run around in those adorable skirts.

Family and Friends-

 

Thanks to everyone- sorry if I missed getting you in the pictures.

It was such a blessed day- All of Mason's siblings{ Shannon, Sam, Kent, and Denver} were there along with their spouses and children. (Denver and Bree aren't married yet, but we count her as one of ours.} We so appreciated the kids for their support and love of Mason-

Today's the day Mason's enters the MTC- If I have a fast connections in our hotel tonight I will post about it. {we are hoping to get half way home tonight.}

Lesson from a child

I thought I would share with you today a conversation I overheard between two little girls.  I actually heard it about three years ago {In Nauvoo, while waiting for the pageant to start}, but I will never forget it.  The conversation went something like this-

   "Hi, do you live here?"

"No."

"Do you go to primary, and are you a Mormon?"

"Yes"

"How come you don't have sleeves on your shirt?"

The girls looked to be around 8 or 9 years old.  Can you guess which little girl has a Mother who knows?

I learned three things that day.

1. That even in our youth- we can teach a great lesson by our example.
2. That it's never too early to teach modesty.
3. That what I teach as a Mother really does make a difference.

I know there's no hard and fast rules set down on how to dress our very young daughters- We are taught correct principles and then are to govern ourselves.

I just love this talk by sister Beck- Mothers who Know.  I so believe that to be true. After over 21 years of serving in the Young women's program, you start to see a pattern of success and failure- and most of it starts with how we dress our daughters.

That's why, when I see a little girl with sleeves, I know she has a Mother who knows.
