Carlee turned 6 on Friday and she couldn't of been happier.
We shared the evening with her...so cute.

At least once a year I like to take my two nieces Ashlee and Mikayla along with Carlee {my grandchild} on a little girls day out.
We started the day by going to the mall for a little shopping. The girls being silly waiting for the shops to open....Ashlee pretending to be road kill.
We did a little shopping at "My Little Kitty", then on to the bookstore; I just let them wander around there for awhile.... Each found the perfect book.
After the book store it was time for lunch at Olive Garden. {on the way there we came across a big road block and decided to take another road. Good thing we did, found out later that there was a shooting there ending in a couple of deaths....seems like every girls day out we come across something like this.}
Carlee picked out an umbrella at "My little Kitty" store, she kept saying "I can't believe I have my own umbrella" silly girl.... she kept teasing Ashlee and Mikayla with it, so cute.
Our next stop was Pink Bowtique they are the cutest little on line store, selling adorable hair accessories etc. for little girls. We happened to know where they make all their goodness. =)

Next we went to Queens nails- for $5 they painted their nails in this cute little designs.
We ended our day by going to see Mirror Mirror. Cute fun little girls.....we had an awesome day.

Shannon and the kids followed me to Dad's home for a short visit. (they stayed overnight, I stayed a few days}

The kids took turn wearing Grandpa Blain's Cowboy hat. When leaving the house....Grandpa Blain always puts his good hat on....Conner to Grandpa Blain...."Wow, you look really nice in that hat."

When I left my Dad's I did so while it was snowing---kind of a crazy 2 hour drive until it cleared up. I hate driving in snow....but needed to get back, Danny had plans for us.
I was visiting my Dad while Danny and my boys went on a Guy trip. (more on that later}
Stopped in at Shannon's on the way home.....for a short little visit .
We left there early evening to go see the Donny and Marie show
Danny planned it as part of a fun early Anniversary Date-
The show was lots of fun....and great music old and new.
We are celebrating 34 years today!
Heidi, Sam and Kids came and spent Conference weekend with us. How Adorable is Audrey....and I'm not just saying that because I'm her Grammer.
In between sessions we like to have a little project to do....this year we made Easter treats for Carlee and Preston to give to all their cousins.
First they painted each box....specializing them for each cousin.
Then they got busy dipping peeps and rolling them in sprinkles.
They came to rest on a bed of edible Easter Grass.
Carlee, Heidi, Preston...and all their peeps.

Lasagna, make your own fire coal cooked pocket pizza, Salad, mac & cheese
Dessert- fire cooked banana boats- wrap with Tin foil and set on coals in the fire.
Played around with light sticks-
We are still learning about Tracey- John and Libby gave us some good pointers. ..hoping once and for all to figure out everything. =) John and Libby are pro campers.

We had a wonderful time- Carlee and Preston were lots of fun. My Brother John and his family are always fun to have around. ....now if we could just figure out the heater on Tracey all would be well.
My favorite quote of the weekend came from Preston- as he casually walked by me...his words.

I found a wonderful little footlocker that will be used as a Memory box for the grand-kids.
I cleaned it up a bit added a little vintage map to the top and bottom to give it a little more character.
This little footlockers home is going to be on Tracey-
I filled her with art supplies, paper and little blank notebooks for each of the grand-kids- to write their camping stories in....the books will stay in the box.....also....eventually I plan to put books and games in her.
Another idea I had for this little Memory box; each time we take the grand-kids camping, I plan to add a picture of them with us to the box. {glued on the inside top and bottom of the box.} so, eventually the whole inside will be covered with pictures.
All ready for it's first adventure.
Finally putting the vintage locker baskets I bought at Remnants of past to good use.

I think every home should have a little area for little ones to sit and read. Just books and a little stuffed Ottoman. I plan to add a large blackboard when I find one or make it. I also plan to have a little note book at this site- the kids can write down what they have read- just for fun.

My last day there I took in some familiar sites and food- =} Good bye burgerville.
Just returned home from a week visit with Conner, Payton and Anna.
Wonderful week of swimming lessons, school drop off and pick ups, special lunch, games, movies, cute conversations, shopping, reading Conner's book written by Conner and tons of wonderful moments.
As I was getting ready to leave I had a little "melancholy" moment- realizing this will probably be the last time I visit them in Oregon. - {they are moving to LV}
I will miss the beautiful surroundings-
The Holly orchard across the street from their school.
The rolling hills and all the green. I will miss seeing some familiar faces....that I consider friends too. [Paige, Jenn, Sheila and Nichole}
So happy that I got to spend time in Shannon's Oregon- it was beautiful. Now looking forward to what wonderful things to come in LV.
