Kaleidoscope; Cottage, Mason & the Garden.

Before & After

Needing a little color in my life I took about an hour and changed up the Cottage kitchen a bit.   Nothing big , just new bamboo shades and a touch of blue.

I had about a quart of blue paint....so, I decided to paint the back of the open shelves at the Cottage blue.

Just wanted to change things up a bit...kind of wanting a little bit more color.

 

Mason and the Razors

It doesn't really show up ....but Mason and the Razor were a muddy mess.

Mason amazed by a wild mushroom.... 

also coming up the hill.  He had to pretty much eat our dust the whole day.

The river to the left looked like it was filled with gold.

The Garden 

With the warmer days the roses start to bloom.

Purple, Garden & a Turkey

It's all about shades of Purple in the Garden right now.....love this time of year when everything has a green haze.

This guy should be thankful it's not November.  =)

Early each morning this guy and about 20 of his female friends walk through out property.

Yep....he's pretty proud of himself.

 

Yellow- Spring

The Gophers let me keep 10% of the bulbs I planted...I am a little unhappy with those critters.....I wonder if that is how the Lord feels about us....when we give only 10 %?  Just saying =)

Everything has a green glow.

Not sure why I think of that quote when I see sweet-peas....and of course the song... Oh Sweet-pea come and dance with me....goes through my head.

I took this little vintage brown vase and put together a small bouquet from the Cottage garden.

Love the little wire top...helps for holding small flowers in place.

Whats blooming outside your Kitchen window?

Beautiful day...now...but didn't start off that way....while cleaning out the pellet stove....my vacuum malfunctioned and ash from the stove filled this room before I even knew what was happening.......31/2 hours later...all is well.

The moral of this story....when life gives you a room of burned stove ash.... pick sweet-peas....or something like that. =)

Spring- Forget Me Not

This year I decided not to plant any Vegetables in the garden- just fruit.   The critters love to eat away at my plants.

So, the bed that was normally my Vegetable bed...became a old fashion....cutting garden....it's just getting started....hoping that by the Spring Event...it will have more blooms...right now The Forget Me nots are going good.

I was inspired by this talk given by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf to the women in our Church.

• First, forget not to be patient with yourself
• Second, forget not the difference between a good sacrifice and a foolish sacrifice
• Third, forget not to be happy now
• Fourth, forget not the "why" of the Gospel
• Fifth, forget not that the Lord love you. 

I love the tiny blue flowers in my garden, so glad I planted them early.....They reminds me to forget not.

 

 

 

Blue Glass & Cottage flowers-

Few flowers last from April to November. Some of the most beautiful bloom for only a month at most. To really enjoy a garden, you have to plant corners and drifts and rows of flowers that will bloom and grace the garden, each in its own season.

Such is life- to really enjoy our life, we need to understand that everyday will not be filled with roses- but each flower or weed brings its own beauty, adventure or trial.  It best to enjoy the flowers that are now blooming and not pine for blossoms past or future. 

Look through the weeds/trials and pick out the best blooms you can...then share your happy vase with those you love.

 Even if we cannot pick the flowers from our gardens to send to those who suffer, we can learn to let feelings of love and support for our family and friends dominate our lives...and to enjoy the bouquet in its season. 

In my life today are sweet-peas, crocuses, forget-me-nots and fruit blossoms.....

Cottage Garden....No Cabbage-

The broccoli is picked- but the cabbage.....where is the cabbage?  Beautiful leaf....but no cabbage.  Why does that happen, I would like to know.  Help?

Side note-  My surgery went well last Friday- big bandage off, my knee is still swollen and tender but doing good....and even walking without pain.....I'm doing so mush better than before surgery  Next week the stitches come out.....then watch out garden here I come.
