We woke up to the smell of coconut french toast cooking ....we topped that with coconut syrup, bacon, fruit. (Thanks Sam and Heidi}I could get use to having a personal chef. ( I think they must of got up at the crack of dawn...because before they fixed breakfast... they did this.)
plus run up and down that crazy steep hill we were on...go team!
Sam, Heidi, Shannon and Scott were in charge of Thursday. The Theme- Kind and helpful.
The chart Shannon made was a big hit. With every kindness you show...you get to put a star on the poster. Lots of hugs, I love you, foot massage's and back scratches.
They lined the kids up on the steps and Shannon told them about us... their Grandparents....only in storybook form....about our childhood.
Next they had a banner that we all put our hand prints on....So awesome....it became our family banner for the rest of the week. Thanks Shannon!
It was a delight to watch the kids all day...finding ways to show kindness and be helpful.
While they were doing that we were getting a little creative ourselves....
Thanks to Heidi's ideas and help. Thank Heidi.
Did I mention I could get use to the idea of Having a personal chef...especially these two!
We ate the best food all day long....the pork chops were to die for! Thanks Sam and Scott!
One last thing of the day...Shannon prepared a bag of "kindness" helps. Ideas, lists and items to give away to help us be kind.
- Kindness in a bag
- Bored? Have you...
- Family CD play list....we listened to this by the pool. Each family member picked a song Shannon put it together on a CD.
- Cards to use in Random acts of kindness, a zip lock bag for the homeless...and ideas on how to help. Note cards, sticky notes and marshmallows and a list of summer activities.
The rest of the day they played by the pool and watched Star Wars in the Theater.
After the sunset and the kids were in bed we told family stories and played games.
