Reasons for changing-
-
wanted to add a bit of surprise
-
hated the outlets staring at me...Two of them are for an old phone line...remember the good old days?
-
because I thought it might be fun
-
had all the supplies sitting in the garage....so why not.
What I did-
- cut and painted a bookshelf board with chalkboard paint
- set in place....no glue or nails =) If I find I really like it after living with it for awhile...I plan to get a wider shelf...this one is 16 inches.....I think 18 would be perfect.....but for now...16 works.
There you have it easy as cut,paint and place...the hardest part was waiting for the paint to dry.
I wish I had better handwriting .....then I think it would be a little bit more polished...but for now...I kind of like it.....
Plus it was a super fast, easy and inexpensive way to get a new look.
{I found my blackboard inspiration from "Inspired You" by Marian Parsons of Miss mustard Seed.}
Her book would make an awesome Christmas gift.
One more step in the process of making the Mill house kitchen my own.....
I still have cabinets to cut holes in and glass to add.....Happy Day.
