It was my turn to plan our annual Mother Daughter weekend..... Shannon and I talked about it and decided we would like a "spa" getaway this year. {a few years ago Dan and I purchased a vacation ownership..through SPG; and one of the perks of that ownership is points} We had tons of points left that we needed to use up...so what better way than for a Mother Daughter Spa weekend! Happy Day!
From the moment we walked in we were pampered by the staff. One of the first things that happened after checked in- I needed a couple band-aids and so I called down to the front desk...I picked up the phone- voice on the other end " How can I help the Andersen Family?' really, that fast! I told them of my need....and I kid you not....within 1 minute they were at the door.
There stood A gentleman dressed in a black suit with a red rose....holding a silver tray with a silver lid. He lifted the top and there were my band-aids served on a silver tray.... awesome details!
The food was awesome-
- Stone hill Tavern
- Appetizer- tuna
- Middle- potato gnocchi with coconut infused froth
- Entree- Black Cod, Duck
- mini grilled cheese & mini celery soup
- Birthday dessert - everywhere we went they wished Shannon a Happy Birthday and gave her prizes.
- Desserts- Strawberry Souffle, Carmelia truffle {you must smack it with a spoon to open it...lesson learned=} with pistachio cake, blackberries, marscapone ice cream.
We enjoyed our walks around the resort...so beautiful.
The setting ....very much like we were in Italy.
Everyday a beautiful wedding was taking place on the grounds-
After our walk around the grounds we headed back to our room to get ready for dinner- when our doorbell rang.....
At the door a man dressed in all white .... "I have an amenity for you."
Happy Birthday Shannon- from the staff at St. Regis
Peach dessert with gold leaf, Happy Birthday written in chocolate.
Saturday morning- Breakfast room service.
- French toast
- belgian waffles
Saturday was all about the spa- When I called to set up our spa day- one of the questions they asked.
"Would you prefer a handsome man or a young lady?" to attend to us.
-
We went with the young lady =)
-
wellness massage
-
wellness facial
-
Alpine oxygen facial
After the spa treatments we spent the rest of the day relaxing at the pool -
Poolside pina colada- people set up our pool chairs with towels.
That evening we had a fabulous Sunset dinner right on the beach. The food was amazing! Especially the crab cake appetizer.
-
Slippers set out on a nice mat
-
robe and PJ's
-
cleaned our mess in the bathroom- brushes and cosmetics lined up nicely on a washcloth
-
Chocolates at bedside
What a wonderful time we had together.....truly couldn't be better. Wonderful to visit, reconnect, Shannon you make me think, my daughter, that every women could be this to each other. Kind, understanding, accepting.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we as women as "sisters" could treat each other in such a way.
I have a goal to let the women in my life at home, church etc. let them hear me say, your eyes are pretty, you look nice, awesome job, you made me happy, sit by her when she sits alone...etc. etc. say it every day to every women whom I meet let her know she matters... no matter if we think she doesn't need to hear it....because she does, no matter her life's situation....she needs to hear it from us her sisters.
Awesome Mother Daughter getaway! Thank you St Regis
Happy Day
