From November 4-11 ..... I was in Texas taking care of a couple cute little kids.
- by the way, the changes at the Sacramento airport are huge. I loved this giant tree branch hanging from the ceiling with thousands of Crystal's hanging from it....so cool.
Kent asked if I would come and help Becca with the children while he was away. {He just took a new and exciting job working for ancestry.com as their app, coding, tech stuff guy...."smile."}
He had been working from Home; but needed to go to San Francisco for an apps, tech, coding, tech stuff conference..."Smile." {sorry Kent, I don't know the official term.} He was going to be in SF for a few days then fly to Provo for his work.
So, lucky me.....I get a week of grand-babies
And a week of loving on this cute little face.
The idea that no one is perfect is a view most commonly held by people with no grandchildren.
Nicholas and I spent some alone time together while Mommy and baby Ellie visited their doctors.
Bubbles were a big hit; I just cut the bottom off of a water bottle- dipped in liquid soap, makes for big fun.
A few times Nicholas and I walked to the park- I taught him how to climb up and go down the slide.....all by himself......which helped him to be a happy boy.
Our grandchildren accept us for ourselves, without rebuke or effort to change us, as no one in our entire lives has ever done, not our parents, siblings, spouses, friends - and hardly ever our own grown children. ~Ruth Goode
One day Ellie and I played dress up-
Ellie is a good sweet little baby- lots of smiles and even sleeping through the night. Nicholas was always very kind to his little sister.
This is a little activity that Nicholas liked.....putting marshmallows and chocolate on dough. {rolled up and baked for about 10 min....yummy good.}
Truth be told I think more chocolate made it to our mouths then on the rolls.
All the meals that I prepared for us this week were from my Pinterest food board. Some were a big hit....others okay-
We tried-
- Crescent roll smores- very good
- crock pot bakes potatoes- works good, but don't let it cook longer than said time....they will burn
- Creamy tortellini soup- the very best
- 7 up roll- good but nothing to get excited about.
- Hawaiian grilled chicken with coconut milk- soooooo yummy.
Like I said, this week was about staying home and just playing with the kids- I did a lot of this.
Also, made a fort for Nicholas... {see Nicholas in the background} played animals, cars and sang lots of songs to this cute little face and the little guy in the fort.
mid week Dan was missing me....I received this lovely bouquet of flower with his love. {it's nice to know you are missed and loved. =) Thanks babe
I asked Becca to take this picture of me and the kids- usually I'm left out of the pictures because I'm the one taking them.
Another one- because Nicholas was happier in this picture- {candy helps every-time.}
It’s funny what happens when you become a grandparent. You start to act all goofy and do things you never thought you’d do. It’s terrific.
Thanks Kent and Becca for having me come-
Happy day
