With the Holiday season already here, many of us will probably be entertaining guests:
A few comforting touches added to your home will make your friends feel special when they come to stay.
In a strange room, comfort and space are more soothing than a clutter of unfamiliar things. A simple clock, bedside lamp, and maybe a single flower in a vase is all it takes to help your guests feel at home.
Set out essentials such as towels & guest soap or hand lotion: bottles of water, foil-wrapped chocolates, would also add that special little touch that says "Welcome, I'm so glad you are here."
Learning to fold towels in "cruise ship" style, adds just a little fun and doesn't cost a cent.
An addition of fresh flowers in the bathroom, shouts "I'm so glad you are here", plus it doesn't cost much to add. I'm lucky enough to have an extra empty linen closet that is used just for my guests- In this closet are special linen boxes for each of my married children with their names on the them. I find out their favorite shampoo, soap etc. and keep their linen box supplied with the things they like. My thinking was to help keep things simple and easy if they are traveling by plane. If your guest will not be sleeping at your home, but you still want to make sure they feel welcome- This little surprise in our Hotel Room {left by our daughter} did the trick- "Thanks so much for coming to share this special week! Here's a few things to make your visit more comfortable." Inside the basket- If you have guests during Christmas- why not put a sweet little Christmas Tree in their room. Or.... Hang stocking from their bed- Christmas scented candles- Special Christmas booties - Target always has a fun collection at Christmas time- and they usually don't cost more than a couple of dollars. Extra blankets- are always nice to have on hand. Special lotions and soaps. Christmas and Thanksgiving are not the only times to think about your guest- why not Just because- A small amount of lavender goes a long way- in the bathroom I just set out a couple little bags, and oh, the lavender dreamy smell that comes from that room when the door is opened. Send a little lavender package home with each guest- All year long we have people coming and going in our lives- why not take the time once in awhile to let them know they are special- Have a special party just to celebrate them- I think how we design our homes our lives helps to remind us, that we have a family and friends that are important to us- By taking time out to do the "little" things we are taking time out for each other. And isn't that what "Christmas" is all about?
The Inspired Room is hosting a Christmas link-up party today. Head on over to see what other bloggers are chatting about!

You have always been wonderful about making your guest feel spoiled! Thanks, I like your box for each kid with all their shampo in it, great tip, the less we have to pack the better.
