When Less is More

House 001small
Room by room I'm starting to scale back- where this dresser use to have several items on it, I'm optioning for just one. I like to call it minimalist magic. Not sure what is going on in my head, but I find that where I may have in the past pulled out all the stops in terms of decorations; by contrast, I'm starting to rely on a few carefully selected objects to make a statement. Yikes, I'm so feeling the need to take everything out of the house- and edit what I bring back in.

With Fall right around the corner here's my personal Fall Forecast.

  • Choose single items I love and keep them-  Limit what I display.
  •  Mono-chromatic palette for my bedding- white or natural sheet.
  • I'm really tempted to use a bold paint color inside a bookcase built in. {I'm I crazy?}
  • Stay with my style of an eclectic mix of prints, furniture and of course my trademark, black furniture and mirrors. {I love painted furniture in Black and White}
  • Every home should tell a story- I need to work on my Memory Wall- really need help with this.
  • Be brave and change it up a bit- maybe go with something a little more sophisticated-or out of the ordinary.

Here's a little Fall teaser-

I'm excited to see what you settle on! Good luck with the changes!

can't wait to see what you come up with this fall, it's always great, so i'm excited to see.

I always am scaling back THEN I go back to my whole "nesting" mentality which includes one giant trip to Ikea. Sigh. I am always selling/giving stuff away and buying more. Guess I just support the economy, and I really should be putting some of that money into a savings account! OH WELL!

This is great, Teresa, I agree with the scaled back approach! It sure makes a great statement!

I love the look of your rooms! So beautiful! My family likes a more peaceful feel to our home. Great ideas, and would love to see more of your home! :)

Blessings,
Stacey
